Is it really Social Media? because it seems to be more ANTI Social to me these days. I drove by a coffee shop and i say a beautiful lady sitting across from a handsome gentleman and they were both looking at there phones and typing away.
I walked into a bar and a girl was screening her instagram while her friend was checking his twitter feed! People get it together, These things, twitter, instagram, Facebook, they are all very cool! I love and enjoy them. However I have made a conscious effort to put my smartphones away when out, unless handling business or communicating with someone on their way to meet me.
There is nothing wrong with these so called media outlets, in fact i think they are a great addition to the world of media and communication. But like everything we need to control how we use these mediums.
i – When going out with friends, it’s okay to update where you are, who your with, maybe instagram a picture or two, but do not be absorbed in your phone while out with friends, it is rude.
ii – Monitor your children’s access online, because the internet has become like an actual playing field your children are actually exposed to tons of content that is not suited for their age. FIND A WAY TO CONTROL YOUR CHILDREN’S ACCESS
iii – The twitter world will make you feel like your more than you actually are, do not let this manifest into your personality and you become a dick!
The times have changed, definition of cool has changed. All us at Millennium Male ask is that you all don’t forget the real world. put the phones down, social media will be there after those drinks, laughs and holding of hands.
